Britney does Sophocles Antigone
My, oh, my — someone’s gotta a bright and clever publicist. Behold, Britney Spears’ homework. It was among a lot of some 120 “personal items” donated by Ms. Spears for an online auction for benefit of the Britney Spears Foundation. OMFG.
What’s amusing for Classicists is that she has clearly read Sophocles (in translation), and grasped the plot of Antigone. The teacher seems to have missed a few mistakes, but for someone in Junior High it’s a pretty good piece and the prose is lucid. I was very pleasantly surprised.
